The music of the Dave Ruosch Trio is devoted to the classic jazz piano styles: Swing, Blues und Boogie Woogie - it always delivers a stylish performance, at a fine acoustic volume level. A teacher at the "Zurich University Of Arts" and "Zurich Conservatory Musikschule", he is widely known for his skills as a swing, stride, blues and boogie woogie pianist - he's an in-demand accompanist, as well. Dave Ruosch has studied Afro-American music but, in his own words, plays "like a hard-working roadhouse piano player". He always performs with highly stylistic assurance - among other music styles, he interprets compositions of Albert Ammons, Freddie Slack, Sonny Thompson, Fats Waller, James Booker, Lloyd Glenn, Googie Rene and Otis Spann; listen to his own compositions "Adler Jam", "The Flame", "On The Top" and "Joe The Hero“ (dedicated to his late musical friend Joe Walter). 2012 he won the SWISS JAZZ AWARD along with his long-time stage mate, singer Christina Jaccard. In 2009 he had gained the VIENNA BLUES AWARD with Norbert Schneider's R&B Caravan. Bassist Daniel Gugolz and drummer Peter Mueller stand together as THE European rhythm section for almost 30 years - they are in-demand session and concert players.
