Russell Nicholas Thomas was born on the luscious Caribbean Island of St. Lucia on January 23 1969. Tucked away in-land amid the green tropical forest canopy at the southwestern end of the island, Russell started singing in the church choir, at age five. By age ten Russell was performing at local events with various local bands. Russell developed a passion for composing and at age fifteen won the Calypso Monarch title, using his own composition at St. Mary's College in St. Lucia. Between 1986 and 1993 Russell gained entertainment experience by performing to national audiences in excess of 50,000 at various concerts. In 1992 Russell was voted entertainer of the year. From November 1992 to November 1993, Russell entertained international audiences on several luxury cruise liners while performing as the lead vocalist of the renowned St. Lucian Band 'Onyx'. The cruise ships included the 2500 passenger Monarch of the Seas and Sovereign of the Seas of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines the 1500 passenger Zenith and Horizon of Celebrity cruises. After moving to the United States in November of 1993, Russell took a break from entertainment and enlisted in the US Military where he served six years as a US Paratrooper. Russell's first project, a single entitled "How I Feel" was released on his own label 'Volcanic Records' and is available at www.cdbaby.com for review and purchase. Russell made waves on www.cornerband.com, where "Lonely Beauty" a dancehall reggae track was downloaded over 300,000 times. Hypnotizer is in the movies! It was selected for the 20max produced movie "Monkie Love the movie" due in video stores on the 26th of July 2005. Russell is able to sound like any member of Boyz II Men; does an authentic Bob Marley; executes country music like Brooks and Dunn and can take you back in the day with influences of the Platters and Nat King Cole.
