简介
Jody Cook grew up in Southern California and was always surrounded by music. Singing in school choirs (her first choir teacher was a Dapper Dan at Disneyland!) led to an audition and acceptance in an exclusive group on her high school campus that competed throughout the region and eventually toured Europe. She learned to sing Jazz and found that to be her particular interest. Moving to Northern California in the 80's allowed her to spend time being mom to her three children. They are each musical and again, she was surrounded by the love of music. She joined an a cappella group where she sang alto, tenor, second tenor and a line or two of second soprano. Recording an a cappella CD was her first recording experience. She then became involved in community theater and was able to join the cast of an original production in Martinez, CA and appears on the original cast recording for "John Muir's Mountain Days." She's been invited to sing backup for other local artists and appears on their CDs as well. Jody resides in Northern California with her husband of 20 years and continues to be blessed by her children's creative endeavors and the local opportunities to share this great medium that can touch the soul. She thanks Rich & Marti for this debut solo opportunity and her family and friends for their enthusiasm and support. Rich Martin adds this piano/vocal duo to his CDBaby collection of six all original piano CDs. He says that songwriting has been of interest to him for many years because songs can reach many more listeners than pure instrumental music. This is because of the combination of words with music. Nearly all of today's success stories in the popular music business are vocalists who can successfully communicate with the art of the song. We are very fortunate to introduce you to Jody Cook, who agreed to record fourteen of Rich’s songs. She was totally professional from the inception of the CD to the final product. She approached each song with care and diligence, with the addition of exceptional musicianship. Rich's motto about the music business is, "Why do it if it isn't fun?" Jody made this recording a pleasure to do. Rich and his wife, Marti, hope some of this is conveyed to you, the listener. Thanks for listening.
