Her very first song was, in her words, a way of working out her salvation, the utter expression of her desire to let God soak His imagination into every part of her life. So, after nearly a decade in Nashville writing songs, leading worship, playing in bars and coffeehouses, and sharing Jesus with others, what does it mean to Ashley to be Freshly Found? "My definition of 'found' is to be discovered, experienced and enjoyed. This goes way beyond being pulled out of darkness to live differently," Ashley explains. "His love-abundance makes life a faith-filled adventure worth living. Jesus found me frail and fragile at the age of 25, with nothing left to live for. He gave me passion and purpose. He changed everything." The songs of Freshly Found are about redemption ... about grace, as in this lyric from "Mercy." "Your kindness will always lead me home, to the sweetest arms I've ever known. The angels are dancing, but I'm on my knees ... another verse in the eternal song of your mercy." The joy in these songs is real and it is contagious. Not surprising for one who says that living in grace "makes me turn cartwheels" and whose stated desire for life is to inspire others to live creatively. Ashley Warren makes no mystery of her inspiration. "I love to worship God. I love the way He loves me, He accepts me, and He delights in me - just as I am. It causes me to love Him back with intensity." Ahhh ... refreshing.
