Reach Out to You is the debut album by SELKIRK RANGE, a singer songwriter project based in Edmonton, Canada. The project focusses on making original music with talented guest musicians, headed up by songwriter Gordon Gow and featuring Everett LaRoi (Idyl Tea, ManRayGun, Goldtop) performing on and producing the record, with backing vocals from Edmonton's Alice Kos and Karen von Klitzing. The collection of songs combines roots rock, country, and Americana influences into a sonorous blend of acoustic guitars and honest lyrics offered up with Gow's restrained baritone delivery. Thematically, the album conveys a bittersweet quality of longing, of loss in love, yet never dwelling on it for too long. The track "Yellowhead West" was finalist and received special mention at the 2016 Ship & Anchor Song Contest in Calgary. The sound of Selkirk Range is altogether unique, crossing genres and drawing inspiration from artists like Gordon Lightfoot, Townes Van Zandt, Glen Phillips, The Jayhawks, Bry Webb, Daniel Lanois, the Avett Brothers, and Sam Outlaw.
