Originally born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Bob Carr was exposed to a variety of music ranging from Country, blues, jazz, big band, R&B and of course Black gospel music. His Mother, Pearline Carr was a regular and active member of the Original Church of God on 14th and Phillip St. in Nashville, Tenn. This cd is dedicated to her, his aunt Charles Etta who resides in Euclid, Ohio and, who is 93 years old, and to his wife Rose Marie Carr. All these women are women of prayer. Even though his Mother passed away in 1955 when Bob was 15 years old, her prayers have followed him all the days of his life. This cd is to encourage all mothers who are praying for their lost or troubled children to keep on praying. God is faithful and will answer your prayers even if you are not here on this earth to see them answered. He came to L.A. in 1972 to pursue a musical career as a songwriter/artist. In 1978 He started a group called Image, a self contained group of 10 people. At that time, he was the sole songwriter for the group of 4 singers and 6 muscians.This group performed several showcases at such places as the Improve and Troubador clubs in L.A. The group came very close to signing a record deal but because of internal problems that couldn't be resolved, the group disbanded in 1979. Disenchanted with the entire music scene, Bob Carr returned to the business world working for an Accounting firm. However songwriting was in his blood and so was the love of the Lord, Jesus Christ. After almost dying from kidney failure in 1997, Bob made the decision to submit and commit to the will of God and write only Gospel music. God not only spared his life with a new kidney, but he inspired him to write these inspiring songs on this CD. Since this is Bob's debut CD at the age of 67, it is even more proof that God can use anyone at anytime if they will only allow him to. It is Bob's fervent prayer that two more powerful CD's will be forthcoming in the very near future. In fact, he has already begun recording songs for the second CD that will be called "LET'S PRAISE HIM." Please keep tuned in to this web-site. He believes that gospel music is not just to entertain the listener, but to enhance and transform lives. Gospel music is about the "Good News," that Jesus Christ is Lord and he paid the price for our sins so we all could have a right to eternal life. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)." Now, that is good news to anyone who is living in this world. He further believes that all true gospel artists/singers and songwriters primary goal is to spread the good news through song and not to be in competition with each other. No matter what our style or who we may sound like, God has given us all gifts to glorify him. Most of all, we who sing the gospel should live it. Bob supports and prays for all gospel artists who write, sing and record their music to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all ministers and disciples of Jesus. May the world see us loving one another instead of competing against each other for worldly fame and the praise of men. He is an active member of Shepherd of the Hills-Woodland Hills, a new church plant of Shepherd of the Hills, Porter Ranch. He is one of the leaders of the Tuesday evening prayer group at SOTH Woodland Hills, as well as the Musical Director of their live and energetic worship services. WARNING!
