Hanging on the dream (HOAD) is the début album of Spyros Pan and consists of 12 tracks composed and performed by Spyros on a PANArt Hang. The Hang is a new revolutionary instrument of the 21st century that brakes the barrier of human understanding of sonic frequencies. A journey through mystical valleys of sweet sounds; the mood of the CD focuses more on the feeling of the music rather than the virtuosic aspect of composition. Inspired by new age composers such as Philip Glass and Steve Reich, the science of Geometry and mathematic sequences HOAD is an amalgamation of repetitive patterns that start from silence and gradually evolve into well structured melodic phrases inviting the listener to a quiet state of presence. Mechanical time stops and the gates of the soul open to inner dimensions. Although there is no scientific research on the effects of the Hang on the human psyche, feelings of well being have been reported whilst listening to this CD as well as relief from headaches and emotional unblocking. A great tool in quietening the mind from mental noise, the CD is been used during Yoga and Pilates classes, during Siatsu and Reiki treatments around the world. At the same time it is the perfect companion for travelling or other activities or simply doing nothing at all apart from flowing with the music. The CD comes in Digi-Pack format and also includes a 16pp booklet with a selection of abstract images taken from Spyros' personal portfolio from travel photography around the planet. The booklet also features sacred geometry graphical illustrations that blend into the images as well as information about the Hang. -------------Technical Details----------------------------- The Hang is experienced in many ways and capturing the "singing" of the instrument proves to be a challenge for any sound engineer. This recording represents an audiophile endeavour at its best. For the task of recording this album the legendary NEVE 8078 40/32 analog console has been employed alongside 12 high end microphones in one of Athens' best studios. Each track was individually mixed down and the final result is an organic fusion of frequencies. The mastering & printing were completed in the UK. Released in November 2009.
