Well-known for the versatility and creativity of a virtuoso (guitarist, bassist, vocalist, producer), Brazilian TINHO PEREIRA works with musicians from all over the world, playing Latin Jazz as well as various other styles and genres…born in 1971 in a city near São Paulo called Araraquara...started to play acoustic guitar when he was 6 years old and started his study with classical guitar at age 7 in the Villa Lobos Conservatory of Music...started playing electric bass at age 12, playing all kinds of music in bars, night clubs, and ballrooms, traveling around Brazil and South America...graduated in classical guitar at Conservatory Villa Lobos - Araraquara City, then went to study electric bass at Conservatory Dr. Carlos de Campos - Tatuí City, and also studied classical guitar in the ULM - São Paulo…had classes with classical guitar masters and studied electric bass, arrangement and harmony. Worked in many recording studios and played dozens of music clubs with different artists and bands around Brazil...in 2000 played at the Fisiarmonic Festival in Reggio Emilia City- Italy with the Mestre Oswaldinho do Acordeon...based in Shanghai since 2005...has played at the JZ-Shanghai International Jazz Festival with the Shanghai Latin Project, at the Hangzhou Jazz Festival with the Universal Quartet and at the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival with João Mascarenhas Trio…also played with the Shanghai Big Band as a bassist, playing a live concert for national TV...records and produces for studios in Shanghai, performs freelance, and has regular gigs with Alec Haavik and the Friction Five, with the Superloukos Trio, with his own Tinho Pereira Trio and with Universal Quartet…also gives bass and guitar classes...Jan 24, 2011 TINHO PEREIRA releases his 1st instrumental album.
