After nearly 2 years of work in and out of the studio, the duo Brothers-in-Law (BiL) has a self-titled debut album that is truly unique. Long-time friends, collaborators and actual brothers-in-law, Jay Nelson (multi-instrumentalist) and Walker Swain (singer/producer) have been writing and recording together informally, while playing with and producing for other bands for years, but only recently decided to pour themselves into making the best record they could as a band.

Drawing from influences ranging from Prince to the Carter Family to the Black Keys, they have developed an eclectic, classic sound that remains their own. Recording at the Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville, run by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes) with co-producer Billy Bennett (MGMT), BiL filled out the sound of the album with the help of a wide array of Nashville and New York-based supporting musicians. The result is a colorful, soulful collage that defies categorization.
