简介
GEORGE HAMILTON IV A Country Afternoon It Aint That Way (With Connie Smith) I Wish Every Day Could Be Like Christmas More Precious Than Life George was a member of the Grand Ole Opry and had recorded country, rock, folk, Christian and gospel songs. He had many hit records to his credit, including the million sellers: Abilene and A Rose and A Baby Ruth. In addition to his enduring popularity in the United States, his unique talent, Christian values, friendly and gentle personality made him a highly popular stage performer and recording artist in many countries, including Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. He was widely known as “The Ambassador of Country Music (and has been named as such by Billboard Magazine). George had been a frequent guest singer with the Dr. Billy Graham Crusades. He lived his faith. Without fanfare, he would visit hospitals and schools to encourage young and old, alike. In late 2006, George was honored in London, England, for his “Considerable work in bringing Country Music to International audiences, including ground-breaking work in Russia and other Eastern countries in the 1970s when he became the first to take Country Music behind the Iron Curtain”. These songs by George are selected from his popular album from RGO Records, “Songs Of Faith And Inspiration.“ You can check out this 18 song Christian album through Cdbaby and i-tunes, and other websites George said about his album, “This album could easily have been titled, ‘George IV Sings the Roy G. “Jack” Ownbey Songbook, since most of the songs were written or co-written by my friend, Roy G. “Jack” Ownbey. (Jack is also the co-writer of the award-winning book, The Hank Snow Story). Jack and his co-writers pen lyrics with a message – songs that ‘touch the heartstrings’ – positive songs of faith and inspiration! Many of these songs have already become personal favorites of mine and will, I’m sure, someday become country-gospel standards. It was a joy, a privilege, and a blessing to be involved in this project. I’m grateful to Jack for inspiring me and strengthening my faith with his gift of song, as I’m sure you, the listener, will be, too!” ….George IV RAY ST. One of his releases – a single called, “Hinges On The Door,” brought him a pick hit from Billboard magazine – and put Darnell’s voice on radio stations all over America. Word of Darnell’s music got around in Nashville, and he was visited by RCA’s Chet Atkins and Decca’s Owen Bradley. Atkins and Bradley liked what they heard. Owen Bradley said that Darnell was the “best damn hillbilly singer that he ever heard” but passed on him because Decca had a deal with the Grand Ole Opry, and couldn’t sign any traditional acts that weren’t Opry members at that time. A guest spot on the famous Wheeling Jamboree USA turned into a long standing gig for Darnell. As audience reacted to his pure country sound and heartfelt deliveries, kept him coming back to the stage in Wheeling as a regular performer for over two decades. He still makes numerous appearances on “Jamboree USA” every year. Many of his songs are at the heart of hard-working Americans and their lives and dreams – a reflection of our country. He continues to receive airplay and not long ago had a number one song on the Independent European country music charts. Darnell has recorded three albums with RGO Records, His highly acclaimed and recent popular albums, Voice Activated, Timeless, and “Certified Country,” are top songs in the traditional genre. In addition to his long-term popularity in our country, many consider him an informal ambassador of folk/country music in several countries overseas. Many of his songs are at the heart of hard-working Americans and their lives and dreams – a reflection of our country. He continues to receive airplay and not long ago had a number one song on the Independent European country music charts. He is still receiving many accolades for his music accomplishments throughout the years. RONNIE MASTERS Notes…from Ronnie Corpus Christi Bay Laid-Back Baby I’ve Never Been Afraid Of Nothing In 2009 I released my latest album, The Best Of Ronnie Masters and, in September 2010, Hillcrest Records released my single, Where Did I Go Right, from this new album. It is receiving a lot airplay, especially in Europe. In September RGO Records released my current single, Nashville Tennessee selected from my album, A Country Afternoon. All my albums are available at CDBaby, I-Tunes and other websites. Country music has always been a huge part of my life. I was born and spent many years in the province of Newfoundland, Canada, and at the age of five, I learned my first song called “The Knoxville Girl.” I started playing music and singing professionally when I joined my first band at the age of 17. Although my musical influences varied from rock to blues to country, as well as Newfoundland folk music, country was always a huge part of a night’s work with the band. My early influences were country artist Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Hank Snow, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Sr. More recent influences have been George Strait, Randy Travis and Alan Jackson, and I enjoy music from the Eagles, Lynard Skynard, Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniel’s Band and The Band. My first album, Honky Tonks and Steel Guitars was released in 1998. All 12 songs were written or co-written by me. Some singles from this album were released to radio in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, by Ross Allen’s Hillcrest Records of Ontario, Canada. The singles were received well by listeners in all countries, and the album was reviewed favourably by several country music publications in Europe and several other countries. My second album, Sparks Among The Coals was released in 2002. This 12 song album contained songs written by Roy G. Ownbey from San Diego, California and others written by me. The single, “Crazy as A Man Could Be,” written by Roy was released to radio by Hillcrest Records and quickly climbed to number one on the (ECMA) European Country Music Association charts, and stayed several weeks in the top ten. It was honored as one of the most played songs in Europe. Several other songs from the album were released by Hillcrest Records and all were received well by listeners in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. RAY SANDERS Let Me Be Everything To You I’ll Be Loving You Tonight (Duet With Cici Porter) In 1981 Ray, who already had Billboard Hit Recordings for United Artists Records and was voted Best New Country Music Singer by the Academy of Country Music, moved from Los Angeles to San Diego to work with Rick Carlson. Rick was a talented singer, lead guitarist and keyboard player. Rick and Ray formed a five piece band and played at top night clubs. They recorded and wrote songs and, for over five years, became the most popular country band in the San Diego area. During those years, Ray and Rick co-wrote and worked with many songwriters and recorded demos for them in Rick's recording studio. A new and talented songwriter, Roy Ownbey (later Roy wrote the Award Winning, The Hank Snow Story), hooked up with Rick and Ray and that friendship has lasted to this day. Many early evenings Roy and Ray would be hard at work writing songs in Roy's music room and sharing a hot pizza. Roy gives sincere credit for his development as a songwriter to Ray’s direction and influence. With all their music activity and all the good food, it's a miracle that they stayed so thin! I guess Roy's tennis playing and Ray's weight lifting paid off. These songs were selected from Ray’s album, “I’ll Be Loving You Tonight.” This CD represents the collaboration of these dedicated friends to country music. If you check his recent album, give a listen and download any that touches your heart. Enjoy a part of history in this country music. In the view of Rick, Ray and Roy, those five years represent for them A TIME THAT WILL NEVER BE AGAIN. Writer: The Fly on the Wall! GEARY HANLEY Nashville Tennessee I See The Hurt In Your Eyes 41 Dollars Geary is a versatile singer/songwriter/musician who established a reputation as a great country honky tonker.
