Nowhere in music will you find another act or sound quite like the Tenants. Members Casey G, Good Matters and DJ Idlhnds have put their own bluesy-spin on hip-hop music and arrived with something all their own. Each member provides a unique versatility, whether it’s Casey’s back-and-forth between relentless raps and jazzy trombone features; Good Matters' signature gravelly, soulful crooning, swift verses, saxophone solos and guitar accompaniments; or DJ Idlhnds' stepping out from behind the 1’s and 2’s to grace tracks with his own sharp-witted vocals. The trio pushed their way through 2012 like men on a mission. Their drive and energy brought them to an array of crowds covering thousands of miles in each direction. During that year, they saw their first two tours, the release of their latest EP, "Eloquent Scoundrels Vol. 1," and several accolades ranging from "Best Hip Hop" (What's Up! Magazine Awards), to an international film festival win for their video "When I'm Back" (16th Annual Indie Gathering International Film Festival). The Bad Tenants is the shared culmination of the three member’s lives. With lyrics that highlight real-life - from bounced rent checks to the dangers of mixing alcohol and women - and a renowned live show that has taken them to stages both small and large, the boys turn heads with every move and are quickly making an impact on the scene and gaining fans along the way. The group has collaboratively shared stages with the likes of Eligh and Amplive, Grieves and Budo, Slug of Atmosphere, Abstract Rude, GZA, Prof and Open Mike Eagle, and held their own with all of them. The Bad Tenants started with the neighborhood, but have their sights set on much more. They began in Bellingham and have recently made the move to the Emerald City. Seattle, get ready.
