Artist – Helen O’Shea Title – "Turning Tides…" Helen O'Shea, a native of Ireland, left Montreal, Canada and her career at McGill Medical School to move to Princeton, New Jersey, USA with her young family. When her kids asked her to stay home, her husband Paul suggested that she explore her first love, singing, during her career break. What started out as a hobby soon developed into a full time passion and when Helen met two time Grammy winning producer Marc Swersky in 2014, her music took off in a new direction. Since then, she has been working with Marc as her mentor, co-writer & producer. In 2016, Helen was invited to showcase her original songs at the Cape May Singer Songwriter Festival where Helen & Marc were honored that out of over 100 songs considered, the organizers chose "Moments" (O'Shea & Swersky) to include on the festival CD, just before Helen released her first EP “Mama Told You…” in 2016. "Turning Tides..." features a collection of 10 original songs about loving, leaving, loss, joy, and making your dreams come true! The CD was recorded at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch, NJ, USA and features the amazing musicians from what Helen calls "Marc Swersky's Dream Team" - Steve Holley on drums (Wings), Todd Caldwell on piano & organ (Crosby, Stills, Nash), Vinnie Mascolo on lead guitar (Tunnels to Holland), Marc Swersky on bass guitar & piano, Joseph DeMaio on lead guitar, as well as Helen's favorite cousin and world famous button accordion player Billy McComiskey. For "Aftermath" the team was joined by the talented Leo Sawikin (The Chordaes) and Max Ventura on backing vocals as well as Garry Mazzaroppi on double bass. David Ross, from Helen's performance band "The Shanakee Project", added drums on "Soulfriend ~ Anamchara". Helen O'Shea believes that music changes lives, so enjoy listening to "Turning Tides..."!
