If you haven't heard about the New Bakersfield Sound, you're about to. Completely unrelated to the classic country of Buck Owens' Bakersfield Sound and not simply children of Korn, Bakersfield is now Ground Zero for the latest generation of creative outraged youth. In a town where their parents' idea of entertainment is watching the oil wells go up and down, these kids want to get in the face of the loudest, rawest and most talented bands they can find. Anchored by 106.1 KRAB-FM and all-ages venues like Jerry's Pizza and The Dome, the scene in desolate Kern Country is ready to be anything but local. Riding to the top of this explosive scene is Stereotactic, whose self-released debut EP, "Consider It Gone," quickly sold out to the faithful. Now, they're ready to take the next step with their sound that relies on devastating riffs, rock solid hooks, gut-wrenching lyrics, dueling-yet-complimentary vocalists and a sense of song-smithing that ol' Buck would instantly recognize. "The Dawning" is Bakersfield's wake-up call to the world and Stereotactic is sounding the alarm. The stunning CD artwork was done by cutting edge artist Bobby Holland, of RZST clothing fame. In mid-2005, label interest kick started the band, which wrote new songs and reworked their classics while working in their new Slash-inspired guitarist, giving them a harder rock edge. Produced by Dave Swanson at Love Juice Labs in Riverside, Califorina, Stereotactic is taking its sound on the road to a grimy and gritty stage near you.
