After a career spent writing and playing with various bands this is my debut solo album. Recorded live with 3 piece band over 3 days by Al Scott at the Leveller's Metway Studios in Brighton, the basic tracks were all recorded live with acoustic guitar and lead vocals, minimal electric overdubs and backing vocals were added subsequently to give the finished product. Bass by Francoise DeVille, drums by Dil Davies. The original concept for the album was to showcase material written and performed with all the bands I've been involved with over my 20 year career, consequentially it features a number of tracks from my previous band Taller than along with a version of She Said! song 'Been So Long'. I've always been a great lover of all classic American music styles from the acoustic blues of the 1920s and 30's right through to the fabulous excesses of 70's rock and all it's attendant pomp, I feel that this recording manages to capture the spirit of that.
