简介

GAYS GONE WILD follows in the tradition of Jonny’s past underground solo hits Soccer Practice and Lookin’ Cute, Feelin’ Cute. However, this summer’s album pushes the filthy envelope further than ever before with a more polished sound and superior musicianship. By incorporating booty bass, house and even hip hop and R&B beats – two genres often associated as anti-gay – Jonny hopes to spark a gay positive music revolution. In fact, he calls GAYS GONE WILD "the gayest record ever made" and he may be right. Beginning with Jonny’s confessional Girl, I F***ed Yo' Boyfriend, GAYS GONE WILD is packed with seventy minutes of no no-holds barred comedic lewdness. In Bossy Bottom, Jonny dispels the myth that all receivers are passively submissive. He exposes a new breed of power bottoms that are taking control of their sex lives and literally flipping the tables on their tops. In Gayboy Mansion, Jonny escorts listeners on a tour of the Gay Pimp lair where the wildest gay fantasies come true. Hugh Hefner may have the Grotto, but the GayBoy Mansion boasts manty-less men in hot tubs. Don't Fall in Love with a Homo is Jonny’s first recorded ballad. It serves as a loving reminder to Jonny’s female fans that if "he does yer hair and takes you shoppin’ everywhere, that he ain't gonna touch you down there!" The song even includes a children's choir at the end. Each track on GAYS GONE WILD is a peek into the warped and hilariously filthy minds of Jonny “Gay Pimp” McGovern and the colorful characters of TEAM PIMP: screaming black diva Maxine Inniss, tranny rappers Linda James and Erickatoure Aviance and soul crooner Adam Joseph. In addition to its slapstick fun, the album also offers a course on Gay History 101. The cover art, an original illustration by famed artist Robert W. Richards, features TEAM PIMP with a bevy of legendary gays who have pioneered growth and sparked change for the LGBT community. Luminaries such as Willi Ninja, the legendary ballroom community figure and star of the groundbreaking 1990 film "Paris Is Burning”; Kevin Aviance, the drag queen and recording artist who made international news last summer when he survived a brutal attack by teens screaming anti-gay slurs in New York’s East Village; Liberace, the extravagantly flamboyant classical pianist; and Sophia Lamar, the transsexual nightlife celebrity, former Club Kid, model and actress. “The cover art is my fantasy of the ultimate gay party,” explains Jonny. “Gay children today owe their freedom to the trailblazers that came before us. Without them, we would still be in our closets.” GAYS GONE WILD is the third release from Gay/Nerd Music, a gay and lesbian lifestyle and culture imprint founded by Jonny McGovern and Martín Beauchamp. Jonny McGovern, Adam Joseph and Secret Agent Gel (the technical wizard behind Jonny’s first single, Soccer Practice) are the producers on the album. Cover art illustration by Robert W. Richards. ABOUT ILLUSTRATOR ROBERT W RICHARDS Robert W Richards has worked in many artistic genres - covering the New York, Paris, Milan and Los Angeles fashion collections for American newspapers; drawing beauty illustrations for Estee Lauder, Chanel, Clairol and Revlon; designing CD covers for Bob Marley and Dirty Sanchez; and creating posters for several Broadway and Cabaret shows. Portrait subjects have included Lena Horne, Peggy Lee, Al Pacino, Tony Bennett, Ann-Margret, Cher and Hugh Jackman among many others. In 2002 his "Gods of Erotica" exhibition broke all attendance and sales records in the long history of New York's Leslie-Lohman gallery. In 2006, Bruno Gmuender published "ALLURE", a collection of Richards’s erotic story illustrations from the 1970's to the present. Says Robert W. Richards, “My drawings are my little films, plays and novels - passports into an idealized world where flaws are minimized and assets maximized - a trip into a world where beauty lies.”
