简介
Chad Krystals is a producer, dj, and an emcee. He prefers to just be known as a musician that experiments with hip-hop style. Influenced by the “golden age” of hip hop in the late eighties and early nineties, Chad witnessed the intensity of the era and followed such acts as The Beastie Boys, Eric B. & Rakim, Gangstarr, 3rd Bass, EPMD, and KRS-ONE. These acts were the spark that gave Chad the inspiration to write and produce his own music. “Ill Ideas” is Chad’s first major indie release. It is a raw, and upbeat album that has many different styles displaying Chad’s unique understanding of music. He also gets help with production from his friend Versatile, whose credits involve work with Faboulous and Jay-Z (“Brooklyn”) and Method Man and Redman (“Walk On”). The songs “Like a Crip and Up in Da Spot” are the two songs that Versatile produced and feature the only collaborations on the album with Versatile and B. Lee. Chad also received help from Scott Blanco who’s credited with working with such acts as Sadat X, Drag-On, and G-Dep. Scott mixed and overlooked the majority of the album and produced the songs “Glow”, “It Aint Gonna Happen to Me” and the hard-hitting “Night Time”. “Ill Ideas” is an album displaying Chad’s multi-talented melodic visions and though some of his songs can be conscious and very serious, the album also gives the message that it was all done to entertain and have fun.
