Ted Wulfers releases brand new Double CD Drivin’ Barefoot!! Ted Wulfers has just released his long anticipated acoustic themed double album Drivin’ Barefoot. Produced & Engineered by Wulfers, these 24 original songs showcase some of Ted’s best lyrics and arrangements to date with moods and stories unparalleled in modern CD releases. This double CD is so cool, comfy, fun, vibey and chill that it should be illegal! To achieve the quality of acoustic cool and vibe on this double CD, Drivin’ Barefoot was completely recorded at home in Ted’s home studio with a handful of additional overdubs recorded in the attic of drummer Jeff Kelly, the living room of engineer David Rieley and a couple of tracks at Mad Dog Studios (Burbank), Gravity Studios (Chicago), Big Twin (Nashville) and 615 Studios (Nashville). Wulfers played almost ALL of the instruments on the songs and brought in Kelly to play drums on a few cuts, Chris Lawrence to play pedal steel, Mark Lonsway to sing backing vocals and Jessica Rae to play fiddle. Former Beggar’s Bridge bandmember/singers Adam Brunelle, Michelle Robinson and Brooke Oberwetter appear playing and singing on the two songs recorded at Denison University back in 1999. Drivin’ Barefoot was mixed at home by David Rieley and mastered by Richard Dodd. Disc One kicks off with the beautiful and emotional "Born on Coney Island," which is the real life story of Ted's Great Grandfather. The CD continues with fan favorites "Valentine's Day," "Sunnyside Up" and "Imperfections." The rockin' "Carl Rogers Blues" and title track "Drivin' Barefoot" give Disc One some good drive and feature some of the catchiest lyrics and guitar licks Ted has ever written. "Breakfast In Bed" lends a humorous “countrified” homage to the Some Girls era Rolling Stones and "She's So Lovely" is pure Petty meets Young meets Buffett. "Pourin' Out My Heart" was recorded in 1999 and shows us a younger Wulfers singing in falsetto and playing fantastic slide blues guitar. Not bad for only being 19 years old at the time of recording. "Soldier's Goodbye" offers wonderful sentiment and loving support to those over seas with loved ones at home and for those at home who miss them. The stark and perfectly lonesome performance on "Oh Baby" gives a glimpse into the traveling lifestyle of those who are always on the road and the disc comes to a dramatically cool close with a brand new solo acoustic rendition of the Wulfers classic "Naked Pleasure," from Ted's Agave Blue CD (2002). Drivin' Barefoot Disc One would be the greatest achievement for a lesser artist but wait, there's more...on to Disc Two.... You realize that Drivin' Barefoot is the perfect name for this CD when you switch over the CD's in your player from Disc One to Disc Two. These songs are an excellent companion to any road trip, study session, drinking/smoking engagement, romantic encounter, morning newspaper, rainy night in the city, run through the woods or anywhere else for that matter. "Dynamite Sugar Babe" is a wonderful way to begin Disc Two as every woman in the world wishes this song were about her and "Run Around Molly" struts her stuff as the catchy drums and guitar hooks will have you rocking out. "Two Hours of Rum," "Bum," "Fishin' & Drinkin'" and "Lemonade" are four major reasons why Ted Wulfers has grown to become one of the best modern day songwriters and an artist to be reckoned with. The drama and ache in Wulfers' voice during the murder ballad "Two Hours of Rum" is hauntingly spooky and real and the early morning mood of "Fishin' & Drinkin'" finally offers anglers all over the world a song they can enjoy and relate to when hitting the boats, lakes and streams. "Lemonade" and "Bum" highlight the sounds of songs not really heard before as upon first listen, you don't really know what to make of them. The honestly bawdy confession and tongue in cheek lyrics of "Bum" give it an edgy drive that is accompanied by some killer musicianship throughout, where the lilting, bounce and smooth roundness of "Lemonade" take you away and make you want to fall in love with the girl Wulfers tells us about regardless of if baseball or weather are what you like to watch or talk about. "Years Ago" and "Dedication" both analyze different aspects of relationships and offer a rear view mirror into all of our pasts where "Lost" gives us all a break when we’re having trouble finding our paths. "She Bought Me a Drink" features a drunken Wulfers mocking the chord structure of his own song from his Cheap Liquor CD (2005) but shows off the fact that "She Bought Me A Drink" is such a good and classic song that it can be completely re-arranged and still be one of the best cuts on the double CD! The 1999 recording of "Sarah's Song" brings Drivin' Barefoot to a close and offers a photographic audio glimpse into the music Ted Wulfers was making in 1999. This song was written and recorded for the In The Spirit CD (1999), but was destined to be the gorgeous hippie jam that closes Drivin' Barefoot and leaves us with some of the most beautiful lyrics ever. In the liner notes of Drivin’ Barefoot, Ted Wulfers talks about how he set out to make a CD that is comfy and cool and sounds like he’s singing to you in your living room. He has achieved far more than that with 24 amazing songs on one of the best Double CD’s you’ll ever own. Pick up this double CD now and see why Drivin’ Barefoot will be played in a lot of living rooms for a very long time!!!
