Sheol Dynasty's first studio release, Immortals, brings an original feel to the hip hop genre. The two members that make up the duo seem to have two completely different styles that, somehow, compliment each other so well. Everything, from the content to the overall atmosphere, change completely from track-to-track making it difficult to explain their style without simply putting an ear to it. One of the group's main focuses is 'staying original', and it definitely shows through on this album. Times change the face of hip hop, and upon entering a generation where sounding like everybody else seems to be at the top of every rapper and emcee's list, Sheol continues to do their own thing their own way, not concerned with 'what's hot' and 'what's not'. The lyrical tag-team (Tigga and Jester Exodus) are the definition of 'individuals' with characteristics that make them both truly a 'one-of-a-kind', and all attributes show through in their music. They draw influence and inspiration from everything around them, including a musical playlist of artists from all different genres spanning from classic rock, heavy metal, electronic music, and, of course, hip hop. They express a lack of interest in most 'mainstream' rap, not merely because it's mainstream, but because of sound, style, substance, and phony facades. Music is an art, they are artists, and Immortals is a great exhibit of hip hop artistry.
