简介
When a white rapper comes to mind, you often think of someone sagging in their skinny jeans, flat-bill backwards, and maybe a grill, huge chain, and icy watch. This is not the case when it comes to Jake J-Thrill Bennett's "TWINS" EP. He accepts who he is, and works within those parameters and raps about what he knows. The beat productions are great, and the lyrics are on another level. For example, in the opening verse of the EP, he raps through the whole alphabet, but using each letter as its own word. To demonstrate, here are the first few letters he does: "they say A when i step in the club, you'd think i was a B the way i generate buzz, homie cant you C, i dont rap about the D's but i do rock this microphone with E's" You'll have to listen on for the rest, but that is just one example of where his lyrics are so deep, they require more than one listen. Topics range from not being taken seriously, struggling to find who he is, walking the walk that no one talks, what he's learned since his last release, girls, etc. TWINS is an acronym, that is finally revealed in the last song, and it represents what J-Thrill has learned since his last public release. TWINS is the culmination of a year of writing, recording, mastering, and perfecting each track to give the listeners what they want, but also what J-Thrill needs to say.
