简介

Ian Lloyd's “O-de-PO” Ian's long awaited CD “O-de-PO” is finally finished and available to you. It contains a unique blend of styles [including sounds of STORIES/FOREIGNER and YES ]which we refer to as “PROGPOP”. Notable tracks include “Wonderful World”; “City Of Dreams”, a brand new version of "Brother Louie", and title track “O-de-PO”. Ian Lloyd's Profile DNA or in the STARS… either way Ian Lloyd was destined to perform! Both his parents were professional musicians. It’s no wonder he was born in Seattle while his mom took time off the road for this event. “My life began ’on the road,’ so it is kind of fitting that I pass it on to my son!” Proud of the fact that his family is comprised of three generations who all performed at Carnegie Hall, he can truly say music is in their ‘blood.’ As a child he sang to Presley, Dion & the Belmonts, and Frankie Avalon & Jackie Wilson. He bought Gene Pitney and Jerry Lee Lewis records and basically just sang to everything he loved. During the 60’s Ian attended college in an upstate New York hamlet, where he played in bands on the weekend, at the same time he was also signed to United Artists and released a few singles for the label. “I grew up loving Rod Stewart & the Faces, Robert Plant, Yes and King Crimson. “The Beatles changed my life. They brought sophistication and a classical aspect to music, which I appreciated having been classically trained on both piano and violin.” Ian sang lead for Stories, formed with Michael Brown (The Left Banke/”Walk Away Renee”) in the early 70’s. Their first hit was “I’m Coming Home” followed by their number one hit “Brother Louie” and then “Mammy Blue.” With Stories he performed on a number of TV shows including “American Bandstand” and the “Midnight Special.” When Stories disbanded, Ian pursued a solo career. His well-received albums include his first self-entitled, Goosebumps, (which produced a Top 40 hit “Slip Away” written by Ric Ocasek (The Cars), Third Wave Generation, and Planet X. With a litany of credits to his name, Ian’s career and his indomitable vocal style have firmly established his place in rock history. His distinctive voice has won him international acclaim and fans that continue to adore him. Lloyd’s vocal credits include singing on hits with a myriad of major recording artists on tracks, which include Foreigner’s “Feels Like The First Time,” “Cold As Ice,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Juke Box Hero,” and “Double Vision.” He can also be heard on Billy Joel’s “I Go To Extremes,” as well as appearing on CDs by Yes, Peter Frampton, Ian McDonald [of King Crimson/Foreigner fame] and Survivor, to name a few. He has sung on numerous jingles including a recent “Folgers” commercial singing - strangely enough - Foreigner’s “Feels Like The First Time.” Ian now heads up Machine Dream Records, an online record company he formed to support the music community (www.machinedreamrecords.com). He has also completed a new CD project, “O-de-PO,” which embraces both the spirit of his history with a current tone that remains distinctly Ian. In addition he has also been working in the studio with Social Hero, a new alternative rock band led by his son David Lloyd and has been frequently seen lurking behind the Hero’s amps during live performances. Ian is planning to resume touring and has put together an exciting new hard rock unit, the Ian Lloyd Band … to begin yet another chapter in his music legacy.
