We think this is a breakthrough CD for Flight 2DA Light. (F2DL) an LA based band formed in the fall of 07. The title track “The Hustle” is a dance track with a message that simply states if you ain’t hustln’ you ain’t livin’. “You take me to Heaven” features a sweet arrangement and tasty keyboard work by Michael Brooks, solid horn work by sax man Phil Ross and trumpeter Kenneth Christopher. Then there’s the “Haterade” track that takes aim at the haters of the world and hits them right between the eyes, it’s fun, it’s fat and it’s funky. “This is my promise to you” is a love song that says through it all I’ll be there for you. “Heaven made this day for you and me” (a wedding song) is all about the splendor of the moment. The Gospel joint is “Pray about it” and it explores the undeniable power in prayer. The three previous tracks all showcase the talent of one Bernard Lilton whose arrangements and keyboard work are off the hook. The Hustle CD is listener friendly and gentle on the pocket book, spin it.
