Lovell Willis (July 23, 1986), better known by his artist name Cotton State King, is an American rapper. He rose to notoriety with the release of his first single Bama Bout it (2004) and his first mixtape The Come Up (2009). Born in Atlanta, GA, Cotton spent the first five years of his childhood in College Park, GA. Cotton lived most of his life in the small town of Valley, AL. At the age of 17 Cotton was arrested; after being handcuffed and put in the back of a police car Cotton knew he had to change his ways. At the age of 18 Cotton had a life changing experience when he and 4 friends had a terrible car crash. The car was totaled but luckily everybody survived the crash. Through all of his ups and downs Cotton always used music as a getaway. If you've never seen a college boy/ gangsta Cotton is as close as you'll get. During Cotton's freshman year he started his music career thanks to Bosta (producer of Bama Bout It). Cotton pursued his passion for music his freshman year which he never could pursue seriously being from a small town. Currently, Cotton is attracting fans worldwide with his unique rap style. After a slow progression with producers and studio time, the young rap artist took action and started producing his own music. The highly anticipated mixtape “The Come Up” which has sold many copies independently is still on the rise and recieving many downloads.
