简介

The DJ Producer - Urban Decay (Conscious Dub Mix) a brief back-story: Luke McMillan, A.K.A The DJ Producer. Long standing Hardcore Techno Advocate from days of old. Producing since 1994 to present day on labels like Deathchant & Industrial Strength he has made his name nationally & then globally as a key player in the hardcore techno scene to this present day. Either known or unknown, Luke has also been a passionate fan of drum & bass for years right from its conception, even freely admitting that his hardcore outputtings often stem from drum & bass origins. Luke has released solo projects as Suspicious Circumstances on the High Octane label, and worked with his frequent collab partner Chris Maxey as The Coalition on Hard Leaders. Back in 1995 during Lukes early experimentation fusing drum & bass & Hardcore Techno elements together, he would release an EP on a Scottish label called 'Storm Breaks'. Quite a pivotal ep as it contains a track entitled 'Signal Confirmed' -- a track in itself that would have quite an impact & subsequent remixes further solidified the fact that The DJ Producer 'Did Hardcore with D & B attitude'.... And also within said same EP --- the original version of 'Urban Decay'.... An amalgamation of Aphex Twin kickdrums, Goldie-esque breakbeats. and Reese basslines---quite a combination for 1995?!?!?! But heres the rub...........There was an unreleased 'purist' version --- that was never completed. Half of it was recorded to cassette for 'the car test' --and on return studio had a power cut and all data lost --as thats how it was back in the day when you didnt have enough floppy discs!!!!!! But almost 20 years later, that cassette turned up, and purely out of love & respect to close that chapter, Luke rebuilt what existed & fabricated an ending, and here in lies the end result --- Urban Decay (Conscious Dub Mix) -- an 8 minute atmospheric, dub-bass drenched roller, roots music, original styled futurist projections. Urban atmospheres intertwine with minimal percussion and maximum focus on original recycled breakbeats. Mixing deep ambience with the hard metal of chopped beats lead up to the most monstrous of Amen tearouts, deep programming on display ranging from d & b to original Hardcore Rave. A hedonistic journey as equal for front room listening as it is total dancefloor tearout. And to reign in Lukes crazy Ambient meandering, More direct and dancefloor versions appear c/o of X-E-Dos with his super hard and dark version & SR with his more junglistic take on the whole thing. Big release with a big back story...
