简介

Marco has blended Pop, Latin and Jazz in this collection of celebratory and sultry songs. He weaves his piano over a mix of horns, strings, and plenty of percussion. It makes for an uplifting sound that is full of integrity, passion and loads of fun. On this CD, Marco explores the world of Latin folk and North American pop music without leaving his jazz feelings behind. This compilation reveals an intense creative process that continues to this day. Marco is constantly writing, reconsidering and refining his music. The styles on this disk vary from Mambo, Cha Cha, Samba, Bossa, Ballads to even a Latin version of the hit dance track from “Kool and the Gang”-“Celebration” He accomplished a recording that leaves you breathless, only wishing it would never stop. He proves his worth both as a pianist and a composer. His timing and expression are a pure pleasure for the listener. Add the beautiful trumpet and trombone work by Tony Carlucci, the sultry saxes by Michael Massaro, and, of course, Armondo Borg’s exclusive percussion work, and you have a recording you will enjoy for many years. Marco has a diverse musical background having been trained in both the classical and jazz fields. His touring career started after college when he joined the rock/pop band Regatta. It was in Halifax, while they were on tour that he met Canadian pop star, Alfie Zappacosta, for the first time. From that encounter, he ended up touring, writing and recording with Zappacosta for the next 10 years. Together they wrote the track, "Overload" for the Juno Award winning CD, “Dirty Dancing”. Not long after, Marco got the call! He was invited to audition for one of Canada's music icons and ironically one of his personal idols, Gino Vannelli. Marco has since spent many years touring the world with Vannelli. Through Gino, he had the opportunity to hook up with, again Canada's finest, Alain Caron, formerly from the world-renowned jazz-fusion band Uzeb. Marco then toured Europe with Alain, as well as, recorded on his album titled, “Just Call Me Al!” Marco points to the future, but still keeps an eye on tradition.
