Sessions at 3rd Circle is a nod to Canadian born Carla Lother's love of choral ensemble singing. The former Chesky Records recording artist has joined forces with long-time associate and music producer, Gordon Minette. Together, they have woven a lush landscape for this short bundle of four songs - two originals, a grooving, playful French chanson from the Renaissance period and a sweeping rendition of a traditional Irish air. The artists who contributed to this recording are as colorful as the songs themselves. Aside from Lother on all vocals and piano and Minette on guitars, percussion and keyboards, an array of stellar guests appear throughout. The opening track is co-written by former punk/metal guitarist Richie Stotts (Plasmatics). Andy Cichon, long-time bassist for Billy Joel visits the two original songs with stunning finesse. Other guests include cellist, Dave Eggar (who "leads the way" in Coldplay's Viva La Vida), cellist Rubin Kodheli (Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson), violinist Esther Noh (Mahavishnu Project), exotic flutes master, David Weiss (The Lion King), percussionist, David Schommer and drummer, Michael Johnson (Dirty Projectors, Glass Ghost).
