This record is a bit of a departure from past Windows albums. The trumpet, played by Ralf Rickert, carries the theme of this album while keyboardist, Les Pierce, helped to arrange the songs. Robert Tepper graciously came in to sing "Field of Dreams". Back for more abuse is Derol Caraco (who also co-wrote "Under the Lights") on guitar, and finally Skipper Wise filled in on bass and whatever else was needed for the moment.

"A Funky Distinction" is a synthesis of all genres of music, a reminder of what once was and "what it is" today.
