On ETUI's 12th release, Alex Carbo and Insect O. work hand in hand producing a "Science Fiction Summer Movie", that is perfect for the upcoming summer. Their Split EP provides some intricate techhouse with melancholic alluring elements to the nightly dance theatres. Carbo's offering "Disappeared" with his typical pumping beats and self-confident drums is perfectly made for the techno dancefloor. Twisted in misty mystic pads with slightly opening chord sounds "Disappeared" slowly progresses its way up towards climax. The synthie aria "Jeronimo" and its melodic and punchy sound scapes navigates straight to the upcoming festivals. With "Cats in the dark" Insect O. proves us wrong when we think that all cats are grey in the dark. Sparkling kitty cat eyes sneak through a dark and unlighted techno basement. Caressed by the stroboscope the appealing glittery synth sounds mark the twisted dramatic, which finds its soul in a subtly composed percussion lines and a beefy bass drum. This song's soft shell is carried over to "She" with its melancholic, softly piano and its gently stroked bongos. With a lot of emotion Insect O. made this deep house track another part of ETUI's versatile concept.
