Brittany D is a singer/songwriter from Jayess, MS, USA. She is best known for her vocal and writing work on Singer/Songwriter Cole Powell's two solo albums and as co-lead vocalist with Powell in Southern music band Mississippi Good Night. Singing in religious venues since age 3, Brittany D is proud to present as her debut solo project a collection of traditional hymns. Nor Doth He Sleep: A Christmas Collection is a presentation of the complete story of Christmas from Advent through modern times. "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" longs for Christ's coming, while "What Child Is This" talks of His manger birth. "Angels from the Realms of Glory" and "O Come All Ye Faithful" chronicle the Angels' proclamation of His birth and invite all to worship. The EP closer "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" serves as a latter day reflection on Christmas, initially bemoaning the lack of "peace on earth," but ending with realization that peace will come because Christ was born, died, and lives again. Featuring only vocals and keyboard, the record is a stripped affair driven by Brittany D's powerful vocals and haunting, original arrangements.
