BIO Louie Brown.... Folk- Rock- Ska Singer/ Songwriter/ Guitarist Vermont Recording Artist Warren, Vermont’s young singer songwriter Louie Brown has released the final version of his first studio CD ”Rise Up” summer 2014. Louie sings Folk/Rock straight from the heart, acing any guitar he lands. He also has a funky beatbox technique with a wide range of vocal melodies flowing through his well crafted songs. The CD Release Party was held at The Local Folk Smokehouse in Waitsfield, Vermont on Saturday June 28,2014. Louie was raised in The Green Mountain State on Blueberry Lake in a Musical, Artistic family. Mom, Rita Brown founded The Mad River Musical Festival w/ notable artists like Leon Russell, Taj Mahal, Sonia Dada, Tammy Fletcher & family friend Grace Potter who got her start there. Dad, Charlie Brown filmed many a musical event while Louie was growing up including Phish & Ben & Jerry’s One World One Heart at Sugarbush, Vt. At 8 years old During World Peace Week Louie embarked on a tour of The Hawaiian Islands with the band Little Feat where he engaged backstage with the bands and twirled Fire with his Mom in front of thousands of Feat fans. Louie and his family attended Music Retreats in Jamaica hence his Reggae/Ska influence. The Brown’s are advocates for Organic Foods in Schools, Sustainable living practices, Farm Aid and are for banning evil doers like Monsanto, GMO’s, Fracking, Chemtrails, GeoEngineering & other crimes against Mother Earth. At 12 years old Louie produced & edited a Global Warming PSA for school after watching his dad edit video for years. He recently returned from Permaculture/ Sustainable living Courses and stopped in Nashville, Tennessee long enough to collaborate and lay some guitar tracks down on Paris Delane of Sonia Dada’s new album. Louie was already making great Music connections as a young teen and even earlier. He was 11 when Grace Potter’s guitarist Scott Tournet’ gave him a metal guitar slide. Later that year BB King gave him a silver guitar pick. Soon came a used electric guitar from his older brother Jessee (Memaranda) who had moved on from Rock to Hip Hop. That guitar has now been signed by Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Willie Nelson, members of Little Feat, Dereck Trucks and more. Several years of guitar lessons with daily practice led to something solid in his style. Louie starting performing gigs around the Mad River Valley at 15. He played Blueberry Jam annually for 5 years.He played Higher Ground in Burlington at age 17 and his songs “Rise Up” and “Maple Rain” were heard on The Point and other stations in Vermont. Last summer Louie toured with Stephanie Lynn for Vt Flood Relief. He played Music 4 Vt and opened The Vt Music Fest with many Vermont Artists and Sierra Leone Refuge Allstars. This past year Louie spent time writing and perfecting his songs then recording at Bullfrog studios in Rochester, Vt. The album “Rise Up” is a diverse collection of introspective songs colliding with Music for the Planet. Profound lyrics, precise guitar technique and fine rhythms are woven consistently throughout . He calls this " A change your life CD. "Louie recently opened the 2014 Waitsfield, VT Farmers Market with his drummer Jano and wowed the locals and tourists as well. This summer Louie will play all over Vermont before heading South this winter to promote the new CD.. Louie had many Musical influences growing up, he is constantly seeking out new music to learn or be inspired by. His first CD is a mature collection of 10 original recorded songs starting with instrumental “Maple Rain” feat: Jared Johnson of The Samples and Jeremiah Bindrum owner of Bullfrog Studios. The new “Rise Up” CD was mastered there as well as “Good Night Irene” a compilation CD Music Tribute to Vt Louie and his brother contributed songs to.“Maple Rain” was chosen by fundraising efforts in Vermont for FEMA’s recovery video & The “Waterbury Rising” documentary, Harwood Union’s online campaign w/Louie’s song “Bluebird” & The compilation CD was on CD Baby Featuring “Rise Up” . The CD was also played and sold around Vermont feat songs from Willie Nelson, Taj Mahal, Little Feat’s,Lowell George & Vermont musicians like Eames Brothers, Joshua Panda, Lynguistic Civilians & Louie’s own brother Memaranda with his Vermont hit “Lil V Teezy” 7 days magazine called The Compilation CD Spectacular!
