简介
Passionate, expressive acoustic folk sung with such honesty and clarity that it stirs both your feet and your soul, then breaks your heart for good measure and leaves you begging for more. Jill Anderson is an Omaha, Nebraska native now living in New York. Her interest in Irish and Scottish folk music began in her teen years and resulted in the birth of the vocal trio Beyond the Pale, which performed widely in Omaha, Chicago, Minneapolis. They produced a self-titled CD showcasing their signature harmonies, and had built a strong following by the time they disbanded. Jill retained her interest in the music and was eager to do a solo album when the opportunity presented itself. Film producer Dana Altman, who worked with her on the feature film "omaha: the movie" in the nineties, heard her singing to entertain the cast on the bus hauling the film crew between locations. He linked her with composer and commercial musician Steve Horner, of Horner Music Inc., and the three produced "cool of the day," her first solo CD. The follow-up CD, "7 Songs," produced in partnership with Steve Horner, has tunes she especially enjoys performing and includes an American folk song as well as Irish and Scottish material. Jill currently has an active career in music and theater and has co-written and produced as well as performed in music and theater productions.
