Windsong Biography Songs from the Heart to the Heart Windsong Martin is a singer songwriter currently residing in Williams, Southern Oregon. She lives on a beautiful piece of land at the foot of Greyback Mountain, graced by a rushing mountain creek, blessed by a fresh water spring and beautiful forest in the Siskiyou Mountains. Windsong has been a singer/ songwriter for all of her adult life. Her bell like voice and heartfelt compassionate delivery has brought her music into the hearts of people around the world. She accompanies herself with a variety of instruments including the guitar, dulcimer, and rattle. Her writing style includes ceremonial chants, folk ballads, tribal rhythms, reggae beats, light rock, gospel and choral music scores suitable for large groups. Her lyrics evoke images of the power and beauty of nature and the vision of a compassionate humanity. Thru the years she has become a voice for the preservation and appreciation of the natural world sharing her songs at ceremonies, benefits, concerts, festivals and rallies, teaching songs to many and inspiring unity and hope in a time of uncertainty. Throughout her life she has to written many songs, some of which have become familiar around the world such as "Mother I Feel You" and “Bless the People”. This song "One Soul Searching"is her most current single to be released and is not available on any albums yet. One Soul Searching was written while I was sitting down by the creek contemplating my place in the Universe. I realized that I was just a tiny presence among the vast variety of beings in this Universe. That began the lyrics which evolved into this folk/gospel song. The song has a feeling reminiscent of the Bob Dylan song "Knocking on Heavens Door", and has harmonies sung by the rich voice of Charles Button, which feel like a Beatle's song. With the skillful improvised Dobro lead by Al Brinkerhoff , and a full band sound with Bass and Drums this song is a great listening treat. The song is suitable for choral groups and I have had fifty and more people singing along on the chorus "Let the LIght Shine In" layered over the solo line "One Soul Reaching for the lIght, searching for a healing way."
