Born and raised in Columbus Ohio Julius J kates better known by his performance name Solo Souljah burst onto the rap scene in the 90s with his hard hitting in your face multi style (don't know how wild style) on a track entitled Night Creep he did with long-term friend and super producer Del-Gato. He helped elevate an electrify Ohio rap scene with the 1999 smash success of his first CD Liberation which introduced the C.O. Soldiers. All artists handpicked by yours truly Mr. Solo Souljah each member had at least 3 different styles and decades of street knowledge all heling from different backgrounds came together to form a supergroup 10 members better known as the C.O. Soldiers. They quickly released their first CD entitled C.O. Soldiers Trials and Tribulations in 2001 solo reached out to long-term friend and Grammy award winning artist Bizzy Bone to collaborate with him on a track entitled "I don't know nothing for" the project ..... The album blew up and set the streets on fire ..it's spelled the beginning of the end for local groups and labels like Columbus mob which at one time controled the radio and streets. Solo went on a rampage being feature on multiple tracks including Del Gatos night Creek part 2 where they proved lightning can strike twice in the same place.in 2005 Solo Souljah released Liberation 1.5 proving to many he was the total package exclusively producing the entire album and just like his Rhymes he wanted to put his own spin on it. by combining many different elements he created the first motion picture CD. That picked up where liberation 1 left off then in a surprising turn of events the track entitled hell & back tied together at last 8 years of his life starting with the very first verse on night creep right into liberation verse for verse until that date. The song was amazing it was seeing great reviews the album also featured Roy Wood S. JR the famous comedian. Solo went on to be featured on many other Columbus artist albums throughout the years..a mixtape tape CD has been scheduled to be released sometime in 2015

C.O. Soldiers

The C.O. Soldiers started out in 1990 originally called B.S.P. Bremen street posse. A local street gang consisting of five original members three of those members consisted of Solo Souljah, Mr Jos and bizzy bone The groups moto was quite simple all for one one for all I am my brothers keeper. After the release of trials and tribulations the C.O. Soldiers made it well known they was a force to be reckoned with combining hard hitting beats with street knowledge lyrics The C.O soldiers is a platform for Columbus best and elite rap artist to display and showcase their talent
