Tounge were asked by the Musicare Online to record a song for “KAOL: A world without Heroes” album back in the year 2000. The band recorded Rock`n`n roll hell as a homage to Kiss and the plan was to continue with new material… But something happened along the way. -Well, I guess it was mostly my fault, Börje says. I kind of launched my solo project Balthazar’s Machine, and then did two albums with Distant Gatherings, and faster than I could imagine, 13 years had passed. The band started up again 2011 when singer/songwriter Börje Reinholdsson met lead guitarist Ola Karlsson for a series of writing sessions. Fueled by a mutual interest in 70´s and 80′s rock, the two began recording original material in Ola´s home studio. It became clear right away that we had something worthwhile after the first few demos’ says Börje. - Ola and me just clicked, and we knew the time was just right to bring back this classic sound from our childhood heroes. -At first we just had this sort of 70′s revival thing in mind, recalls Ola. But when Börje came along with drums and a load of cool riffs we were like, cool just let the music do the talking and let´s see how it evolves. The combination worked, and it gave Tounge the unique edge that defines the band’s sound. Tounge sounds like 70′s and 80´s rock with great vocals and a lot of energy. -What it comes down to for us, remarks Ola, is that we really dig what we’re doing, and we’ve proud to finally have a chance to share I with other rock lovers out there. -Exactly, agrees Börje. This is the kind of music I love so I´m so happy we, after 13 years, finally can bring Tounge back to life.
