简介
With this album Darling and Bhuyan pay tribute to the beauty and wonders of Nature and Mother Earth, to all Humanity and to the Classical composers who inspired them. Darling and Bhuyan take turns passing the melodic role back and forth, other times weaving their sounds together, blending equally...with an occasional brief solo between phrases. The varying impressionistic numbers evoke the "symphony" of the sounds of Nature, the colours, the playfulness of the Creatures, dancing rain, the power, majesty and cinematic, the gentleness, the ethereal and the silence in Nature..... along with a chant and a lullaby...All music was improvised live "in the moment" from deep within their souls, and recorded in Surround Sound/DSD in the Immersive Studios, Boulder, Colorado, for 2 days on February 6-7, 2012. There were ten mics of different types around the piano, three different mics around and three different small mics stuck onto the cello, plus five mics branching out from high up on a pole placed between the two artists to capture the overtones ringing out from their music, with the ringing tones lingering gloriously at the end of a phrase. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Mike Yach, Sound Engineer at Immersive Studios. Grammy-winning cellist David Darling and Jacqueline Bhuyan, pianist, grew up together playing in orchestra in Elkhart, Indiana, and have been composing and improvising music for decades. Both spent time teaching music before becoming Recording Artists. Darling continues teaching improvisation through workshops for all given by his organization Music for People, Bhuyan mentors young musicians, works on advocacy for music education in our schools, and has published articles on music. Both perform at various functions. For more information on the artists and Music for People workshops, please visit the Links to their websites. Named to "Best New Music in 2012" list by New Age Music World website.
