简介
I am proud to announce the official release of my latest recording – At Sunset (2016 Special Edition). Greg Englert – Sydney, Australia – Composer, co-producer, all instruments and backing vocals. Meera Belle – Sydney, Australia – Lead vocal Steve Turnidge - Ars Divina/UltraViolet Studios, Seattle, U.S.A. – Mastering To celebrate 25 years as a music producer Sydney based composer, producer, musician Greg Englert decided to re-visit his previously released music. Rather than re-mix and use alternate takes Greg started a project to have his favourite singers and musicians from around the world re-imagine his compositions in their own special ways. The result is a series of epic special edition recordings ranging from Pop and Rock, through Jazz and Swing to Civil War Movie genres. ‘At Sunset’ was originally released in 2013 as part of a 3 song EP – ‘Days like these’ (GEM-007), (Available at all good on-line stores) composed by Greg Englert and featuring the multi-talented Sydney based singer, Ms Jo Kenderes. The song received a Runner-up top award for the world-wide ‘Song of the year’ July 2009 competition and was a top 5 finalist in the same competition in November 2009. At Sunset also achieved number 1 status on the MP3.com charts in both the Latin and the Jazz charts as well as number 3 on the Soundclick Latin and Smooth Jazz charts. This new 2016 Special Edition features the amazing Sydney based vocalist Meera Belle. Dubbed The Ruby Voice by her first teacher, she was offered a place at the Royal Northern College of Music in which she debuted at the UK premiere of seminal Dutch composer Louis Andriesson’s ‘Die Materie’, capturing the attention of the composer himself. After hearing her mezzo solo in ‘The Sword and The Crown’ (Gregson), conductor Nicholas Childs asked her to record with the world famous Black Dyke Brass band to critical acclaim: “…..a stunning recording…”, John Maines, British Bandsman. She made her Royal Albert Hall debut at the World Premiere of ‘An Age Of Kings’ and then her Welsh debut in St David’s Hall, Cardiff. Meera has since created the roles of The Diva and The Angel for daring outdoor spectacular ‘Albatross’, braving several thousand pounds worth of fireworks exploding directly behind her. ‘Albatross’, a multi-media show based on ‘The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner’, was a highlight at the 2004 Glastonbury Festival. She was also the featured soloist at Manchester’s inaugural Last Night of The Proms. Meera debuted the lead role of Isabella in the world premiere of ‘Isabella And The Pot Of Basil’ in Covent Garden, January 2005. Following her first contract in 2004 as Featured Vocalist aboard the QE2 cruise liner and she was invited back immediately for the 2005 World Cruise (Voyage of Discovery), during which she reprised her highly successful “Viva Diva” Show with fellow soprano Ellen Smith in 2006. Meera appeared as the Botticelli ‘Venus’ in a new outdoor mini-opera performed at UK’s largest arts festival, Brighton, and at the annual Garden of Delights Festival in Manchester where she arose from the shell suspended in a lake. Meera's work is deliberately diverse spanning concert/opera/music theatre/straight theatre/street theatre/pop/jazz and she has also recorded several dance singles with UK producers Force Four. Since her return to Sydney, she has coached with cabaret legend Paula Langlands, former NIDA Head Of Voice Tim Patston and Patricia Oertel. As well as performing her own shows, she has teamed up with John Hardaker to perform in BossaBaby - a sexy latin twist on old rock and pop classics - check the Audio Page for recordings! Most recently, Meera has returned from concerts in Russia with her vintage vocal trio, The Starr Sisters. The track was mastered by Steve Turnidge from Ars Divina/Ultra Violet Studios in Seattle, Washington. Enjoy! Greg Englert, Sydney, Australia, 2016 PS please check out other songs from the 25th anniversary special edition releases for more amazing treatments of my songs!
