All the tracks on Blue Nights & Sunshower were arranged & sung by Janice Jarrett with meaningful performances by Mike Eckroth, Alieksey Vianna, Mike Levy, David Jeffrey, Gil Rodriquez, Bill M. Martinez & special guests Michael Fan, Paul Johnson & Dmitri Matheny. Although her lyrics worked their own way from one singer to another, from the U.S. to as far as Australia, Japan & France, from L.A. to N.Y, Denver & Paris*, Jarrett had yet to record her own solo CD. Until now. Her first recording highlights the writing genius of two of her favorite pianists & composers, Kenny Barron & George Cables with seven of her original lyrics. A longtime singer, lyricist & arranger, Jarrett draws from an extensive background in performance for this first collection. With her continuing work as a speaker & educator, & a vocal studio to run, Jarrett somehow continues to add to her library of original lyrics & arrangements & is planning a second CD.
