DARKNESS / McCALLUM Music composed with a detailed mix of proverbs and inspiration by a songwriter who's walked the path. Darkness is the song that introduces songwriter McCallum in advance of her upcoming debut album by the same title. Her emotionally laced music simulates a style influenced by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Santana and Beatles member George Harrison. From a teenager, McCallum began to write a prolific collection of songs and poems which for most part remained on the back burner until 2011. Darkness marks a distinct turning point with the decision to embark on her own musical journey and unique style of songwriting. While many songs are dark and haunting, other tunes are conceived out of concern for world events and humanity as a a whole. McCallum's style of writing is more by actual experiences than fictional emotions. And without personal involvement in any given song theme she simply doesn't write it.
