简介
Carly Gibson and Zale have joined forces, and they are already leaving their mark on the Georgia music scene as Indie Rock/Alternative supergroup, THE PUSSYWILLOWS (TPW). Individually, these women are exceptionally strong performers and songwriters; together, they are positively formidable. The Pussywillows, in short, are: sweet and savory; sultry and fresh; pure. The Pussywillows are perfect harmony in motion. Balance is their greatest quality; they weave in and out of each other’s melodies seamlessly. Many moments throughout their set listeners cannot tell who is singing which line, creating an almost subconscious, fascinating game. Their music is beautiful yet haunting, soft at times but always taking the listener back to a hard beating pulse surrounded by nasty electric guitar. The best friends push and pull each other and their audiences through intricately constructed sonic spaces showcasing carefully cultivated lyrics that both evoke and provoke listeners into a daydream in which you can simultaneously catch cotton candy by sticking out your tongue and stomp proudly through alligator infested swamps with high-heeled leather boots on. Sass and class, and a little something special are what this duet processes. Although not sisters by blood, the young women’s connection and voices suggest otherwise. TPW began recording their debut EP in August 2015 in Atlanta, GA. The project is produced by Patrick Taylor. For music, shows, and more visit www.thepussywillows.com. There was one guy, then there was craigslist, then there was a dude who moved in. Then they started a band. That band is Trash Panda. You've definitely never heard of them before. Their sound is reminiscent of 90s era Mercury Rev, and they have something in common with Tame Impala and the Flaming Lips. Maybe. Indee Killed the Pop Star, an indie-folk band from the deep South, combines classical inspiration with a rock-pop mix for audiences around Atlanta. With hints of opera and jazz bursting through the vocals, strings and woodwinds provide a bright backdrop for songs about love, pain, healing and... cats. Lead singer Indee, a self-described "bad-a** rockstar b**ch", made a huge impression three years ago, placing fourth runner-up in the first season of Atlanta's Sing For Your Life competition. Since then, her and her band have played venues around the city and around Georgia, creating genre-twisting, original songs and breathing fresh air into the local music scene.
