简介

Felly K (born as: Felicia Flora Kovacs) is originally from Eastern Europe, having started life in Szeged, Hungary. She grew up in Budapest where she was exposed to a wide variety of literary and musical influences. Her parents mixed with artists and intellectuals who regularly visited the family home. Felly K kept a microphone in her hand throughout her high school days; she formed her first new-wave/punk band – Office Atmosphere – in the mid-1980s. As Lead Singer, she made a name for herself in many underground venues in Budapest. This was the start of great things to come and led to a decision to start professional voice training classes. She took classical singing lessons under voice-coach of the Hungarian Radio Choir. This was followed by private pop-soul voice lessons. With her professional training accomplished, Felly K continued forming her own unique musical approach and style within a jazz and soul framework as an independent artist. She has had success as a live performer and recording artist, with soundtrack credits for three tracks on the 1997 Hungarian movie Csinibaba (Dollybirds). This is a comedy parody set in the 1960s, about the communist years in Hungary. It was a truly memorable event in her solo career when the soundtrack broke Hungarian music sales records and was awarded a Golden Record. She moved to New York a decade ago to improve her musical style within a new inspirational artistic enviroment and accomplished other independent solo albums like Far Away, recorded in New York, and "Szeretni Bolondulásig" which features classic Hungarian pop hits rearranged into jazz. Both albums were composed, arranged and produced by the composer and pianist Arpad Olah Tzumo, former student of Herbie Hancock. In New York she collaborated with her music and production partners on live club projects like ‘Jazz and High Heels’ where she combined classical jazz and electronic music featuring live DJ on stage. Having spent the last ten years between New York and Europe Felly K gradually switched from her jazz roots into pop music and started experimenting with young composer talents than in 2011 released her first pop single “Crazy Love” featuring Canadian young rap artist JDiggz. This has been followed by her new and first pop solo album “ Not Fragile” to be released in early 2013. Her latest album has been completed in cooperation with young independent composers from LA and Berlin like Doma Schrank and Gabor Deutsch and is a real exciting switch into melodious dance, and electronic pop hits.
