This 50 Y/O M.C. Out of Brooklyn N.Y. by way of Harlem, The Boogie down, and Chelsea NYC lives and breathes Hip Hop. In 1979 he would go uptown just to see which crew was Rocking in the parks. The D.J.s were the maestro's, who set the parks on fire with the funkiest breaks I'd ever heard. The other element were the M.C.s, Masters of Ceremonies who controlled the crowd with street slang rhymes. I was hooked the first time I witnessed rapping. After the summer was over the D.J.s and M.C.s were booked in small clubs and schools, any venue that would showcase there routines and I was there. The hot spots were where Grandmaster Flash & the Furious 5, Africa Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation, Funky 4 + 1, Grandwizard Theodore & the Fantastic 5, Cold Crush Brothers, Busy Bee Starski, Love Bug Starski, just to name a few. I would go to the hottest hip hop jams uptown cause they did not have them where I lived downtown in Chelsea. So one day me and my boys from Chelsea Mike Gee and Marcus made our own crew, we bought 2-technics and three microphones and started writing our own songs. We were a hit locally until hip hop came downtown and the rest was history. In 1984 my son was born and reality hit so I had to get a job. Hip Hop was blowing up in every region of the country. By then my music career was a dream. I moved to Brooklyn and spent my last 25 years working. I retired from my job at 50 Y/O, and with nothing to do I turned back to what I love most HIP HOP. I recorded this album with producer Brokbundlez out of Tulsa Oklahoma, and New school rappers out of Lafayette Gardens Houses in Bed Stuy Brooklyn. There lyrical delivery was incredible, so I recorded with all of them and Brokbundlez beats was just the music I was looking for. This is the first time I ever finished a project that I can call my own. So today I present to you Project Music with featured artist from Lafayette Gardens & Chelsea Houses. I AM HIP HOP.
