Rural Sounds Records presents 'Andangel', a four track E.P consisting of two originals by Empty Shelter, an Argentinan duo consisting of Du Sant and Mino (Krad - Lood), Remixes by Berlin's Distale (Clap your hands - Lapsus - TK) and Argentinan Andy Arias (Subbeat - Sound Avenue) 'Andangel' is a balanced mixture of quirky and different, along with current and classic, three of the four tracks are deep tech-house, whilst Distale's remix is big, and raw, a true techno bomb. The first track on the E.P is Empty Shelter's 'Andangel', a tech-house production that starts slow and builds using luscious stabs that echo throughout with balanced reverb and a gentle delay. Strong driven pads cut through pre-drops giving the track power and tension that never lets up until its over. Andangel is remixed by Distale, from the first few bars of this track it is evident that he is a Berlin based producer with a current raw sound that can be heard in any number of the cities underground clubs. Distale's remix is darker and heavier than the original, the baseline is lumpy and blunt, mixed with the percussion this track carries a true chug. Whilst being chunky, this track still presents a great melodic mid that creates a more interesting listen compared to many other songs with this sound. The third track is another Empty Shelter original named 'Stumble Over', this track sounds a lot groovier with rhythmic percussion with clicks that roll over the top whilst progressive stabs grow underneath. Harmonic pads flow past and the bass plucks the bottom end, at some points the synth work takes the production on a quirky detour, however good builds and drop execution reign the listener back in. The last track on the E.P is by Argentian Andy Arias and a remix of the previous listed track 'Stumble Over'. This remix has a completely different sound yet stays true to what makes the original standout. The baseline is again plucky but has a higher pitch and is much more prominent, almost taking on a new disco vibe.
