简介
Madtone resides in South London and 'Emerald' was originally released on a limited seven inch single (330 only pressed) on Blossoms Kitchen Records in 2006. The track is a combination of all his musical influences 1970's Dub, Jah Wobble, Holger Czukay, New Order, Throbbing Gristle combined with assorted noises culled from years of taping off the radio. ''Emerald' is at the other end of the musical scale; rough and jarring. An old musical box is turned inside out with some heavy distortion and peppered with some dark beats. The single had love from DJ's including LTJ Bukem, Andy Smith (Portishead), Rob Birch (Stereo MC's) and Nick Luscombe. It also had a good review in "The Wire" magazine, appeared in the DJ Pages chart as well as plays on Flo-Motion (XFM), Radio Magnetic and The Garden of Unearthly Delights. "Hefty" One Week to Live magazine "Best played at night...when the freaks come out" DJ magazine "Emerald, a nice crazy dubby number. Very good" LTJ Bukem
