Francesqa are a British 5-piece rock band from Newbury, England who gained initial fame after being picked to play the Kerrang Introducing Stage at the 2010 Slam Dunk festival alongside Futures, Deaf Havana, Not Advised, Straight Lines, and Kill Casino[ On 1st June 2010, Francesqa released their first single, Ghosts, along with their first accompanying music video. Their first EP entitled 'We Lived' was released on 19th July 2010. After playing their first shows only twelve months ago, Tom Delonge has already praised this quintet for their “unique sound” and they’ve appeared in a recent copy of Kerrang magazine for the “Introducing” page. The boys rise to fame has been both quick and steep and it comes as no surprise after hearing their debut EP, We Lived. Fans of Young Guns will thoroughly enjoy this record, it’s got the dominant riffs, hard hitting drums and big chorus’s, all techniques pointing to success. Wilkie’s vocals during ‘Hopeful’ nicely take control of the track. Single ‘Ghosts’ is guitar-lead, hook-ridden and the chorus is where the band truely explode into energizing rock. Although Delonge admires their “unique sound”, for me unique isn’t the word I’d of picked. There’s plenty bands around like Francesqa, but with Delonge’s comments and decision to choose them for the Introducing Stage at Slam Dunk acting as their winning lottery ticket, this British quintet have managed to make their mark on the industry
