Sonbol Taefi originally comes from the south of Iran. She left her home town in 1976 and studied in London for few years and after finishing her studies she pioneered to Western Samoa where she stayed for a number of years and later on moved to New Zealand where she is presently residing with her husband and two daughters. Musical Background She started singing and performing from the age of 9 when she started to appear in local children's TV programs. Sonbol has been performing for over 20 years and has produced/co-produced and recorded several CD’s She has given concerts in New Zealand, England, Australia, South Africa, China, Macau, United States and Canada. The style of her music is modern, yet with classical themes. She aspires to produce music that uplift the hearts and has put to music Words of Bahá'u'lláh, and 'Abdu'l-Bahá, as well as poems written by early believers of the Baha’i Faith such as Varqa, Tahirih, Jonun, and Nush. She has worked in collaboration with many artists including concert pianist Stephen Small, Farahsheed Golbarani, Behzad Khoshmashrab and many others. Sonbol is currently working on producing her next album titled "Along The Tigris" - a selection of Hidden Words of Baha’u’llah and Prayers set to orchestral music.
