Wayne Landes was born and raised in Southern California, but when most people meet him they think he must be from down South or at least the Midwest. He was raised with old fashioned morals and values in the home he still lives in today with his wife and three children. Wayne has been playing and singing music since he was about 8 years old. He has performed on shows with Grammy award winning Country Star and co-host of Hee-Haw, Roy Clark, Country Star and Songwriter, Tom T. Hall, the Weatherfords, and even shared the stage in concert with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra. Landes is largly known in Gospel music for his work with the award winning Southern California group, Crownsmen and later Southland, which is his band presently. He was named Favorite Musician of the year by the Western Gospel Association (WGA) Western States Fan Awards. Wayne plays several instruments which include lead and rhythm guitar, bass guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and dobro. He became a Christian as a teenager and was soon asked to sing for the church. The truth was, he didn't know many Gospel songs at all. Wayne was able to do a great version of "Wings of a Dove," made famous by Ferlin Husky and wonderful old standard Amazing Grace. He now is an accomplished songwriter with many Country and Gospel songs to his credit. Wayne Landes has been playing Traditional Country and Christian Country music most of his life.
