简介
John Hiestand's (pronounced 'Hee-stand') debut album 'Tomorrows' is a compilation of 11 songs written and performed over the last 20 years. His friends finally persuaded him to record and release some of these songs. These songs range from the very goofy ('Wait For The Beep') to the deeply personal ('The Captain') and record the experiences of a life searching for faith and love. Hiestand is a classically trained musician who nevertheless fell in love with the guitar and the sounds of The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Paul Simon and the other greats from the 60s and 70s. In the 80s and 90s he discovered some of the open tuning greats like Leo Kotke, and has been deeply influences by the music of David Wilcox. He'd love to have Alison Krauss sing back-up on his albums too, but is joined by the equally beautiful voice of his wife Vivian on two songs; 'Gloria' and 'The Captain.' The title song 'Tomorrows' was written for Vivian. Perhaps the most unusual commission was for 'Ya Better Believe It'. John received a call from a pastor on Good Friday needing an Easter song, and 'Ya Better Believe It' is the result. Other songs evolved over the years. We're hoping it won't be another twenty years for John's next album!
