简介
In 1970, a group of Westerners descended upon the foothills of the Himalayas to be with a great being, now known internationally as Neem Karoli Baba. Referred to in the familiar and honorific as Maharaj-ji, this being is most often described as "exuding unconditional love". The Westerners who entered the Ashram who viewed a small prayer book with a pict re of a flying monkey on the cover. A hymn entitled "The Hanuman Chalisa" was written within it in Hindi. For months Krishna Das and Rameshwar Das studied the Hindi alphabet to render a transliteration and to decipher its meaning and bhav. In the years since The Hanuman Chalisa, has made its way out of the temple and into our hearts throughout the world. It is a well-loved and recited staple of Maharaji-ji's satsang in the West. The invocation begins, "I take the pollen-like dust from the lotus feet of the guru to polish the mirror of my heart." It has been said that in doing so we can see our own true nature, a reflection of God. May this offering provide some tools to learn about Hanuman, Chant the Chalisa and polish the mirror of our own hearts. All love and thanks always to those pilgrims who made their way East and brought this treasure back West.
