These songs are influenced by a crazy combination of professional rock 'n roll playing, lifelong songwriting, a love of 60's and 70's music (the era of my coming of age), and an ongoing spiritual/religious quest that covers my whole life and includes graduate studies at Yale Divinity School in biblical texts, theology, ethics, and history. The music arises from a sense of wonder at the universe and our existence in it. It is inspired by the music of many others, famous and not famous. The lyrics are serious, playful, humorous, challenging, and provocative. They want your attention. They have ideas they want you to hear, propelled by music that is lively and loud, sweet and soulful, played with a lot of heart.
