“A friend once told me that songwriting is therapeutic.. so I just started writing and now it has become a form of worship for me.” Molley Moody is a singer/songwriter with an insatiable passion for sharing God’s love through her music. Hailing from the hills of Rose Bud, Arkansas, Molley left the small town comfort to fulfill her dreams as an artist in Nashville, TN. After attending school at Belmont University, Molley lead worship at M-Fuge camps, Passion and is currently touring with gospel recording artist, CeCe Winans. Her song, “In Your Hands” was featured on recording artist Christy Nockels’ 2009 album, “Life Light Up.” Molley’s first independent album, “Close to You” is just that – a sincere and light-hearted take on her desire to have a strong relationship with Christ. This five-song project is an acoustic fusion of pop and folk w/ catchy meldoies and vocal arrangements pouring out the longings of her heart. “I wanted to title the album ‘Close to You’ because that is the heart behind all of the songs. It’s kind of like my way of telling God that no matter what I’m going through, I just want to be near Him.” For Molley, her love for music is an opportunity to inspire and encourage others through her writing. She believes that it is the power of the message that fuels her passion to develop a personable relationship with her listeners. While she admits in getting nervous to performing on stage, Molley says that she knows that this is where God has called her to be. “At this point in my life, one of my favorite verses is 1 John 4:18: ‘There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.’ Sometimes life tries to make you worry about things, and I have to daily be reminded of God's promise that He always goes before us and will always take care of us. As I'm entering into this new season as an artist, instead of being nervous and fearful about what's ahead (stage-fright! I've gotta get over it!), I will sing with joy knowing that God's love drives out all fear." The inspiration behind Molley’s music comes from her own relationship with Christ and her life experiences. Her music is more than just melodies and lyrics, it is a heart of worship; a pure desire to walk with the Lord. “My music reflects where I am and what I believe. It’s straight up and honest to what I’m feeling and who God is. I’m not trying to be somebody else, but to create what I hear and what I feel – just to be me!”
