The band's members first start jammin' together in the early eighties, but it's in 1989 that things seriously started rollin'. The five musicians from Genocide (former name of the band) got together in a studio in Hamburg to create their first mini LP "Roots In Rock" produced by Dierk Steffens (Accept)... A big hit! In 1992, after a long series of concerts, they called up Jurg Naegeli (Krokus) to immortalize their next eleven songs on "Showtime". The group made a very strong name for itself in the world of Heavy Rock. In 1994, the BMG record company signed them to record their new disc "Stranded". The rockers soon became the backup band for the whole Krokus tour in 1995. In 1997 the band's style definitely evolved in the direction of Rock and they decided to rebaptize "Sideburn". "Sell your soul for Rock 'n Roll'" (BMG) gave to the musicians the opportunity to open for Kiss in the packed out Hallenstadion in Zurich (SWITZERLAND). At The end of the year 2000, after some tiny changes in the line-up, the band decided to collaborate with their old times' 'Guru', Juerg Naegeli, as Producer & Sound Engineer. The collaboration gave birth to "Crocodile", 12 songs made of pure Australian Rock (Including the Cover Song "Remedy") originally recorded by one of their biggest influence: Rose Tattoo. This album released in January 2002 by Point Music has been available all over Europe. The band will be touring quite a bit till the end of 2002. This has led the band to open for bands such as: Slade, Dio & Thin lizzy + some headliner's gigs in some bikers conventions and several clubs. 2003 Has been a year of creation & recording for the brand new album "Gasoline". The new CD has been Recorded & Produced by Jürg Naegeli betweeen May and April. Mixed during the summer by Serge Christen at Mazzive Studio & mastered at MSM studios in Munich. At the beginning of 2004 the band has signed a license deal for Europe with Point Music in Munich. For the band, "Gasoline" is the evolution of "Crocodile" with the same Sideburn's vibe but with a more focused sound and some catchier songs. This year has been pretty busy with the birth of Roland’s daughter, Lionel daughter’s and some incredible gigs with KROKUS and one of their main influence, ROSE TATTOO. In 2005 for their 20 YEARS’S BIRTHDAY, the band has worked on a couple of new songs which will appear on a Best of Album called “ARCHIVES”. This new album will be released in February 2006. This year also note the arrival of a new lead guitar player: BORIS. Stay tuned !
